Secretary of State Tre Hargett & Rutherford County legislators presented a $2,500 check to Rutherford County Archives Thursday (10-09-20)
The grant was awarded through the Tennessee State Library and Archives. “This grant provides Rutherford County archivists supplies necessary to properly preserve the county’s history. I appreciate the Rutherford County delegation’s support for this grant," said Secretary Hargett.

The Rutherford County Archives seeks to preserve and protect the written documents, past and present, generated by the government offices of Rutherford County, TN. The county records preserved at the archive include judicial proceedings, tax documents, and administrative records. The preservation of most of these records is required by law and serves to protect the rights of citizens. The Rutherford County Archives seeks to make these documents accessible to government agencies, the people of Rutherford County, and the public at large.
