Salary:

Job Summary:. The purpose of this job is to provide assistance to the County Engineer in the technical areas concerning the roadways, drainage, to include hydrological and hydraulic studies, retention and detention areas, erosion controls, and transportation engineering models and studies as they pertain to Rutherford County. This will be accomplished by reviewing problem sites in the county as directed.  Duties and responsibilities include reviewing plans and permits for compliance, performing studies using hydrological and hydraulic models, updating technical specifications, implementing appropriate procedures, ordinances and checklists, developing and maintaining a storm water system map and database, researching information and preparing reports, and developing project cost estimates. Reports to County Engineer.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering in Civil, Environmental, Bio Systems or related engineering field from an accredited school; successful completion of the E.I.T. examination; or any combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Must possess and maintain a valid Tennessee driver’s license.

Judicial Commissioner (Part-Time Weekends)

Judicial Commission

Starting Salary: $9.50 per hour

 

Job Summary:  The purpose of this classification is to perform clerical work associated with General Sessions Court operations and the criminal judicial process. Duties and responsibilities include preparing warrants and petitions, conducting probable cause hearings, issuing warrants, mittimus, and criminal summons, performing data entry, providing information and assistance to the public, answering the telephone, filing court documents, processing documentation, maintaining files/records, and providing general support within the department. Reports to Administrative Supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications:  High school diploma or GED; supplemented by college level course work or vocational training in office administration and personal computer operations; supplemented by 6 months previous experience and/or training involving office administration, legal/court office work, and personal computer operations; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Must possess and maintain a valid Tennessee State driver’s license.

Court Clerk (Part-Time)

Chancery Court

Starting Salary: $9.50 per hour

 

Job Summary:  The purpose of this classification is to perform secretarial/administrative work associated with providing support within the Rutherford County Chancery Clerk and Master’s Office. Duties and responsibilities include scheduling appointments, preparing and issuing orders of the court, assisting the public, attending Chancery Court, assisting Judge in the courtroom as well as the Chancellor, maintaining records, processing documentation and information, and performing other duties as assigned. Additional functions include checking daily, morning and late afternoon, for any pleadings submitted that are to be filed in case files that will be taken into the courtroom; filing all other pleadings in files located on the third and fifth floors; delivering court dockets and files to the various Judges’ offices, etc. Reports to either Deputy Clerk II or Deputy Clerk III.

Minimum Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree in addition to credit hours toward a Juris Doctorate Degree; supplemented by one (1) year previous experience and/or training involving legal office work, office administration, public interaction, and personal computer operations; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Must have strong organizational skills, customer service skills and attention to detail.  Must possess and maintain a valid Tennessee driver’s license.

Dentist

Health Department

Starting Salary: $68,820 - $82,150 / year (Full-time Commensurate with Experience)

OR

$35.29 - $42.13 / hour (Part-time Commensurate with Experience)

Job Summary:  The purpose of this classification is to provide clinical dental services to patients in the Health Department Dental Clinic. Duties and responsibilities include providing patient care and dental treatment, assessing and examining patients’ physical and dental conditions, recording patient conditions in medical records, prescribing or issuing medications, providing patient counseling and education, preparing documentation and maintaining records, maintaining inventory of supplies, and performing other duties as assigned.  Supervises Dental Assistant and reports directly to County Health Director.

Minimum Qualifications:  Doctorate in Dental Surgery or Dental Medicine; supplemented by one (1) year previous experience and/or training involving provision of dental services; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Must possess and maintain valid license to practice Dental Medicine in Tennessee. Must possess and maintain valid DEA Certification. Employees in this position may not possess any outstanding school loan balances which would prohibit credentialing of the employee by TennCare and/or other insurance companies. Must possess and maintain a valid Tennessee driver’s license.
