Care Here Clinic

The Rutherford County Government has contracted with Care Here Clinics to provide clinical sites for participants in the medical insurance plan. Dependents of employees who are also covered under the medical insurance plan have access to the services provided at the clinic.

Services rendered at the clinic are of no cost to employees and eligible dependents who are enrolled in PPO Options 1 or 2. Employees and eligible dependents enrolled in the Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA) Option 3 will be subject to office co payment in accordance with plan guidelines.

If you are referred to another medical provider/facility, expenses incurred at the referral site will be subject to medical plan guidelines, deductibles etc.

Employease

Employease is the Human Resources Benefit (HRB) system utilized by Rutherford County Government.
Access to this system is limited to employees only.

Employee Assistance ProgramEAP

Rutherford County is excited to announce LifeServices as our new EAP provider. Employees are one of Rutherford County’s most valuable assets and we want to ensure that you have the resources available to you when you need them the most. The EAP is designed to help you deal with problems that would otherwise distract you from your day-to-day activities. Stress can affect you not only mentally and emotionally but also physically and we want to help ensure that you live a healthy and productive life.

In our efforts to assist employees in coping with life’s issues, we have enlisted LifeServices EAP effective June 1, 2009. Benefits that LifeServices will bring are personal counseling, referrals, legal consultations, legal forms, financial counseling, tax consultation, a robust website, wellness seminars, monthly webinars, newsletters, and critical incident stress debriefings to name a few.  You will also find that LifeServices offers other work-life benefits including assistance with adoption, child care, elder care, grief and loss, marital issues, teen issues, college, addiction, health and wellness, automotive, home improvement, moving, safety, travel, identity theft, and more.

All employees, household members, and dependents living out of the home are encouraged to use these services on a voluntary basis. Services provided by LifeServices EAP are completely confidential. The County is not provided with names of individuals who use the service.

Rutherford County feels fortunate to be able to provide this benefit for free to each of their employees, household members, or dependents living out of the home with six counseling visits per problem with a licensed and qualified counselor. Legal consultations are free for the first 30 minutes per incident and you may seek consultation by phone or face to face. You may secure additional legal and financial time at a 25% discount once you have surpassed the 30 free minutes.  

Appointments may be scheduled at available times during the day, evening, or Saturday morning hours. Clinicians are accessible by phone 24/7, 365 days a year by calling 800-822-4847 toll free.

Flexible Spending Account FSA 

Rutherford County Government offers the opportunity for employees to contribute pre tax dollars for Medical and/or Dependent Care Reimbursement Accounts. Participation in the FSA is strictly optional however participation is governed by Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Code 125.

Life Insurance

Rutherford County Government provides eligible employees $30,000 of term life insurance as part of the benefit package. Eligibility for the benefit is determined by the same guidelines for all other benefits.

  • Full time employees
  • Elected public officials
  • Part time or seasonal employees who work at least thirty(30) hours per week at least thirty-six (36) weeks of the year and employed for at least one (1) continuous year
  • Interim teacher who has worked in one (1) specific position for at least one hundred(100) continuous days in a given year

Eligible employees may purchase additional life insurance on themselves, spouse, domestic partner or child(ren).

Any and all additional coverage is subject to plan guidelines as stated in the Summary Plan Description (SPD).

Currently life insurance is underwritten by the Hartford Life and Accident Insurance Company.

Long Term Disability

Rutherford County Government provides eligible employees a Long Term Disability (LTD) insurance plan as part of the benefit package. Eligibility for the benefit is determined by the same guidelines for all other benefits.

  • Full time employees

  • Elected public officials

  • Part time or seasonal employees who work at least thirty (30) hours per week at least thirty-six (36) weeks of the year and employed for at least one (1) continuous year

  • Interim teacher who has worked in one (1) specific position for at least one hundred (100) continuous days in a given year (as determined by the Board of Education)

The insured plan provides a benefit of 66.67% of your earnings to a maximum of $6,000 per month. You must be disabled for at least 180 days before you can receive the LTD benefit.

Coverage as well as the actual benefit are subject to the terms and conditions of the policy.

The policy is insured with The Hartford Life and Accident Insurance Company.

Note: Plan effective date is January 1, 2009.

Medical and Dental Plans

Cigna is the provider of record for the Medical and Dental Insurance plans as offered by the Rutherford County Government.

Both the medical and dental plans are Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) based. Benefit levels are subject to plan guidelines and In-network/Out of Network provider arrangements.

Vision Plan

Participation in the Vision Plan is determined by the Medical Insurance Plan. If the employee and/or eligible dependents are enrolled in the Medical Insurance Plan, then coverage in the Vision Plan is included. There is no premium charged for the Vision Plan.

Compbenefits is the provider of record for the vision plan.

Co pays and allowable expenses are subject to plan guidelines.

Provider reimbursement is determined by participation in the Compbenefits provider network.

Participating providers can be accessed by utilizing the Compbenefits website located on the right side of this website.

Voluntary Insurance Plans

Rutherford County Government offers employees an opportunity to acquire/participate in various other plans i.e. Disability (short term), Accident, Cancer, Hospital Supplementary Plan etc.

Plans as stated above are voluntary with some plans subject to pre tax premium deduction.
