Youths detained in the Rutherford County Juvenile Detention Center will receive the following:
24 hr. supervision
Three (3) meals per day
Black and White striped jumpsuit
Footwear
Daily Showers and all hygiene supplies
Transportation to necessary appointments
Visitation with parent/guardian (30 minutes twice a week-no physical contact by appointment only, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays)
Mail Service (two pieces of outgoing mail a week to appropriate recipients, may receive unlimited appropriate incoming mail)
Phone access-business related (Tuesdays and Thursdays)
Phone access-parent/guardian (Monday, Wednesday and Friday)
Daily exercise and recreation
Educational services
Optional church services
Laundry Services
Medical services (as needed)
Legal guardians of detained youths must provide the following in a timely manner:
Any prescription medicine; must be in the original container with the child’s correct name
Dosing will be exactly as prescribed on the container unless the Dr. or Pharmacist provides a current letter with updated dosing
Appropriate amount of needed undergarments in correct size
No under wire bras
White t-shirts (optional)
White socks
Underwear (no thongs)
Any item brought in that has unnecessary adornment will either be rejected or modified (like strings, chains, charms etc.)
Detained Youths may have:
Playing cards (no inappropriate pictures)
Paperback books
A small amount of appropriate personal pictures
