Adoption Policy

There is a $80.00 dollar adoption fee. This fee includes the following: First distemper combination shot, first deworming, rabies shot, heartworm test for dogs, feline leukemia/FIV test for cats, and a $32.00 voucher for the mandatory spay/neuter. The surgery may be done at the participating Veterinarian of your choice. If an animal is already spayed/neutered, the cost is only $48.00.

• All adoptions are subject to verification and approval of an adoption application.

• You must be 18 years of age to adopt a pet and provide a current driver’s license or state ID.

• Proof of pet deposit must be presented prior to adoption if you live in a rental property.

• All animals that have not been spayed/neutered must be transported by our staff to the participating veterinarian of your choice.
  Please realize that you may not be able to leave with your pet the same day.

• If you live outside of Rutherford County, any animal adopted must be spayed/neutered prior to leaving the county.

If your application is approved, you may be able to take your new pet home the same day.
We accept cash or checks only. If you pay with a check, it must have your current address and match your driver's license.
