RCSO Cold Case Homicide/Death Investigations Conference

The Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office has put together a 36-hour, Tennessee POST-certified Cold Case Homicide/Death Investigations Conference in Murfreesboro, Tenn. Aug. 8-12. We are timing this so everyone’s new training budget is in.

	Dr. James Adcock (author of the recently published Cold Cases: An Evaluation Model with Follow-up Strategies for Investigators (Advances in Police Theory and Practice); and one of our primary instructors at Henry C. Lee Institute cold case school we attended in ‘07. Whitesell Newman	William C. Whitesell Jr. 16th Judicial District Attorney General, will speak on what it takes to build a winning case and his experiences in cold case prosecution. Whitesell and ADA J. Paul Newman (who will likely do a segment), have so far sent six people to prison for first-degree murder based on RCSO cold case investigations.
