Deputy John Acton - Born in Birmingham, Alabama, moved to Lebanon, TN in 1982 and graduated from Lebanon High School in 1984. He went to MTSU and graduated with a B.S. in Criminal Justice, with a minor in Psychology and Sociology. He served eight years in the United States Marine Corp and was a veteran of the Persian Gulf War. He worked nine years with the Dept of Youth Development. In 2000, He made the move to the Rutherford County Sheriff's Department. He worked Patrol Division for two years and finally made the move to School Resource Officer Division, where he was assigned to Smyrna High School.
