Cops & Lobsters

“Cops N’ Lobsters” is a fundraising event that the School Resource Officer’s of the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office put together and have an active involvement in to help raise money for the local area 16 “Special Olympics” games. School Resource Officers help assist various waiters or waitresses at the local Red Lobster restaurant on Old Fort Pkwy by serving water, tea, soft drinks, and refills on the drinks. The officers do not serve alcoholic beverages to any customers. Even on some occasions the School Resource Officers will serenade some lucky patron celebrating their birthday by singing the Happy Birthday song. While performing these duties the officers also advise patrons at the restaurant that there are envelopes on the tables where they can make a donation to help fund the “Special Olympics”. The Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office has been conducting the “Cops N’ Lobsters” fundraising event for approx. 16 years now.

This year’s “Cops N’ Lobsters” event will held at the Red Lobster Restaurant on Old Fort Pkwy. Dates have yet to be determined.      

This year’s local “Special Olympics” games will be held at the Middle Tennessee State University Track and Field Stadium. Dates have yet to be determined.
