May Day Ride - May 3, 2008

The annual S.R.O. May Day Ride is a motorcycle ride that the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office School Resource Officer Division sponsors every year to help fund different youth programs for the students in the Rutherford County School System. This year’s event will be held on May 3rd, 2008 and will start at 10:00 a.m. The ride’s registration and start will begin at that same time and the registration fee for the event is $20.00. This year’s event will be the 5th annual May Day Ride and is co-sponsored by the Bumpus Harley-Davidson dealership located at 2250 Northwest Broad St in Murfreesboro. This fee will allow one driver and one passenger to ride to several different locations on Percy Priest Lake, where the driver and passenger will be able to pick one card from a deck of cards and try to make either the best or worst poker hand. Therefore, the ride is considered what is called a “Poker Ride”. Once the riders have made it to all locations on the lake they will return to the Bumpus Harley-Davidson dealership where there will be a celebration with food, drinks, and music. Out of all the riders the person with the best and worst made poker hand will be awarded a cash prize, which will later be determined on the day of the event. All proceeds from the event will go toward purchasing supplies for the youth programs that the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office School Resource Officers present to the students of the Rutherford County School System.
