Born in Lawrenceburg, TN, April 6, 1951. Young child in Georgia. Started kindergarten in Austin, Texas. Grades 1-4 in Tachikawa, Japan.
Graduated from Murfreesboro Central High School. I started all four years in football and earned All-State honors as well as a full four year scholarship to Middle Tennessee State University. While at Central I received the DAR Outstanding Citizenship Award, BETA Club, President of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and various clubs.

While at MTSU I lettered and started as  Linebacker for the MTSU Blue Raiders all four years and was defensive captain my last three years. I majored in Finance and  Economics.
MTSU Campus Police - Two years
Rutherford County Sheriff Department - Two years
Murfreesboro Police Department - Retired with 30 years service. Was the last original member left on the Special Operation Unit (SWAT). Retired from the SWAT team as assistant commander. I was the bomb tech and hazard materials tech. I received Officer of the Year 2 times and numerous other awards listed on my awards and schools page.

Met the love of my life Dorothy in 1976 and married her in 1977. We have three wonderful sons that I am proud to say are Eagle Scouts. I was involved in scouting for 19 years along with the 3 of them. We had many memorable times together backpacking, canoeing, and camping.
My three sons are Jeremy, Dustin, and Cody. Jeremy is married and has the next most important girl in my life, Morgan, my one and only grandchild. Dustin is a student in Knoxville at UT and works at the hospital. Cody is a student at MTSU and works for Rutherford County Office of Information Technology.

I am currently working for the Rutherford County Sheriff Department as an SRO officer at Kittrell School where my wife teaches second grade and my grandchild attends.
