Sergeant Kerry Nelson

Sergeant Nelson has been with the Rutherford County Sheriffs Office since January 1985. During that time he served in patrol division, special enforcement (narcotics division), court security, and the Felony Arrest Search Tactical Team (F.A.S.T.) before joining the school resource officer division in 1999. Kerry is a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice administration. In addition to his duties at Stewarts Creek Elementary School, Kerry is a member of the Mounted Patrol Unit. Kerry is the father of two sons, Lucas and Justin.
